Uros Borzas continues in Toulouse

2020. May 29, Friday 14:03 | Talent Development

Uros Borzas, who has signed a two-year contract with the French team of Toulouse, can prove himself in one of the strongest handball leagues in the world from next season on. The 21-year-old playmaker of Grundfos Tatabánya KC and a former student of NEKA will join his new French club in July. Uros said he wanted new challenges and wanted to get the most out of himself.

The Serbian-born young handball player was a student of the National Handball Academy between 2014 and 2017, from where the road led to the team of Telekom Veszprém and then to the one of Tatabánya.

Uros Borzas showed his talents in the Hungarian championship, the EHF Cup and in the youth and junior national teams as well. His warrior mentality and motivated approach have always been exemplary and have garnered recognition from experts and supporters alike. The period of his career in Hungary is now coming to an end after eight years, and in the next two years he will be able to show what he is capable of with the team of Toulouse.

“There was an opportunity that would not present itself too often. I think everyone’s goal is to test themselves in the strongest league. I felt like I wanted to change after eight years and I longed for a new challenge. I want to develop as much as possible and get the most out of my capabilities, and over time to become a key player”, spoke Uros Borzas to our website.

Uros will probably have no problems getting acquainted with the new environment as he will come across many familiar faces in Toulouse.

“I know some of the players, Nemanja Ilic and Milan Jovanovic, for example, are Serbian national team members, but also with two French boys we played against each other in the younger age group national teams. While the second coach of the team, Danijel Andjelkovic, does not need to be introduced in Hungary either, as everyone knows the former legendary player of Pick Szeged. And the head coach will be Philippe Gardent, a former French national team player, who previously led PSG.”

A case of pride and an example to follow for our students is the one presented by Uros Borzas, who had started out in Balatonboglár to reach a level where he got the chance to play among the greatest.
