The members attended the event in the capital city in elegant dresses. The women’s and men’s youth as well as the U15 (girls) and U16 (boys) teams included 29 NEKA players as well as a few of our professionals as staff members.
In the European junior champion team several former and current academy handball players, the likes of Anna Albek, Petra Vámos, Lili Herczeg, Natalie Schatzl, Armilla Simon and Viktória Takó participated. Members of staff included the goalkeeper coach of NEKA, Béla Bartalos and dr. Attila Kisegyházi as well.
In the gold medal winning Hungarian national team at the Youth European Championships, NEKA has been represented by Szilárd Kiss jr. as head coach and ten players – Barbara Bánhidi, Luca Faragó, Nikolett Horváth, Gréta Juhász, Blanka Kajdon, Molli Kubina, Maya Mérai, Laura Nagy, Mira Vámos, Viktória Woth, while staff members included therapist György Seck as well as fitness coach Martin Szücs.
In the squad that has reached 5th place at the men’s youth world championships, six current and former students – Kristóf Győri, Márton Dely, Dániel Kecskés, Bence Papp, Dominik Gáland Gergő Kovács – of the academy played their part, while as staff member Dániel Lattenstein of NEKA worked in the role of fitness coach.
The boys’ U16 team led by Zsolt Kopornyik finished at 5th place in the European Open Championships, with seven of our players being members of the squad – Zoran Ilics, Tamás Papp, Bertalan Papp, Gergő Igali, Gábor Temesvári, Ákos Takács and Zsolt Krakovszki.
Our women's U17 team finished 3rd at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Baku, with Zsófia Mlinkó, Diana Rónai and Blanka Vajer returning home with a bronze medal as NEKA players.
