National team head coach Kim Rasmussen has named the following list of players to enter the tournament starting on November 30th hosted by Japan. There are 16 players to be nominated for the start of the championships, and three substitutions can be made during the tournament.
Noémi Pásztor, pivot for Ferencváros has already played before for the women's national team, while for Petra Vámos, who plays in Debrecen and is the youngest member of the squad, this is the first time to be included with the best. The head coach specifically mentioned the form of the 19-year-old.
“Most of the players in the 28-person squad have been working with us during the last twelve months, and it is important to be stable at the World Championships. Petra Vámos is continuously given playing time in her club, she did well in the physical tests too, I believe her style could fit well into our strategy, if she gets the opportunity at the worlds. I am very glad to be able to work with so many talents who are still only 20-23 years old or even younger. Eighteen players will travel to the World Championships and we will announce the final squad next week” – said Kim Rasmussen for the website of the federation.
The national team will travel to South Korea at the end of November to participate in the Seoul Cup, and will then continue to prepare directly for the World Championships in Kumamoto, the venue of the event.
