Pink October

2019. October 24, Thursday 19:59 | Talent Development

One of the objectives of the NEKA is to encourage young handball players to take part in programmes that receive special attention in everyday life as well in addition to sport.

As part of the fight against breast cancer, several campaigns around the world will be launched in October, with NEKA's female students joining in by receiving an informative lecture on the topic touching an increasing number of people. They also handed over self-made pink ribbons to female staff.

As a first step of the initiative, the girls, with the help of the college educators, made pink ribbons, a symbol of the fight against breast cancer. Before reaching out to the female staff of NEKA and putting the ribbons on their dresses, they listened to a brief introduction on the unfortunate disease that is affecting more and more women and the importance of prevention.

As health care assistant Edit Szakál Antal emphasized in her lecture, it is important for young people to be alert and be aware of the signs that may warn their body about the development of the disease. It is important for the young to bring this to the attention of the ladies around them, and prevention should be a priority not only in the month when fighting breast cancer campaign is put on the agenda, but also in everyday life.
